This programme, offered in collaboration with Coventry University, United Kingdom, is a top-up part-time degree programme specifically designed for professionals in the aviation industry, such as pilots, engineers, airline and airport operations and administration executives, etc.

 

Tailored for graduates of the HKIAA’s Professional Diploma in Aviation Management, as well as Associate Degree or Higher Diploma holders (or equivalent qualifications) from aviation or other disciplines, this part-time degree programme enables you to seamlessly build on your existing qualifications while balancing work and study.

 

The programme, while conducts at the HKIAA in the Hong Kong International Airport, delivers in-depth and contemporary knowledge of aviation operations, management skills, leadership strategies, and regional and global industry trends, equipping you with practical skills and expert insights to tackle complex challenges in the field.

 

Upon completion of the programme , graduates will earn a prestigious qualification that opens doors to senior roles in aviation management, operational leadership, and strategic planning, positioning them as a key player in the dynamic aviation sector.

Programme Structure

  • Depends on students’ prior qualifications, students will be required to take 6 to 12 modules (120 to 240 credits) in order to complete their studies

Admission Requirement

All applicants shall hold one of the following qualifications to be considered for admission:

  1. Graduates of the Professional Diploma in Aviation Management offered by HKIAA; or
  2. Associate Degree, Higher Diploma or equivalent qualification in aviation discipline; or
  3. Associate Degree, Higher Diploma or equivalent qualification in other discipline will be considered on a case-by-case basis; or
  4. Other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis

 

Remarks

  • Applicants whose previous qualifications were not taught and assessed in English must provide evidence of proficiency in English language by achieving at least IELTS 6.0 or equivalent
  • All applicants will be required to attend an admission interview
  • Applicants with PDAM qualification will be required to study the following modules for completion of the programme (i.e., a total of 160 credits):

    Applicants with AD or HD in aviation discipline qualification will be required to study the following modules for completion of the programme (i.e., a total of 120 credits):

  • Other applicants, when admitted to the programme, will be advised of the number of modules (and credits) required for the completion of the programme

 

Programme Delivery and Assessment

The programme will normally span over: 

  • 4 semesters (each semester 4 months, i.e., a total of 16 months) for part-time students who need to take 8 modules (160 credits), or
  • 3 semesters (i.e., a total of 12 months) for part-time students who need to take 6 modules (120 credits), or
  • 6 semesters (i.e., a total of 24 months) for part-time students who need to take 13 modules (240 credits)

 

Each semester follows a regular structure of 16 weeks (12 teaching weeks + 4 weeks for assignment and study break). The programme will be delivered by lecturers and instructors from the HKIAA.

 

Student assessment is by means of coursework, which includes, but not limited to components of group projects, group presentations, individual assignments, quizzes, and tests. The weighing of components varies among modules.
