Flight Crew Licence Examinations

HKIAA is authorized by the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (HKCAD) to conduct Theoretical Knowledge Examinations at Airline Transport Pilot’s Licence (Aeroplane) [ATPL (A)] level for flight crew. These examinations align with the current Hong Kong Aviation Law, Aircraft Performance and Technical as well as European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part-Flight Crew Licence syllabus and learning objectives.

Examination Booking Form

HKIAA Flight Crew Licences Examination Booking Form

Completed Examination Booking Form should be sent via email to FTE@hkiaaacademy.com at least 7 working days prior to the examination date, excluding both the submission date and the examination date.

 

Examination Fees

  • Examination fees of HKD 635 per candidate per examination paper applies.
  • Only online credit card payment is accepted. A payment link will be sent to the registered email(s) upon receipt of Examination Booking Form from the candidate.
  • Examination bookings will only be processed upon receipt of payment from the candidate. Payment proof of a successful payment cap screen including the payment reference number should be sent via email to FTE@hkiaaacademy.com.
  • The examination fees are non-refundable and non-transferable even if the application is rejected, withdrawn or otherwise ceases to have effect.

 

Examination Schedule

2026 Q1: Examination Schedule

  • Accommodation in the examination room is limited, therefore bookings will be taken on a first come, first served basis. The final examination date may be different from your preference as indicated in your Examination Booking Form.
  • Examinations normally start at 10:00, 14:45 and 16:15 unless otherwise notified. The final examination time may be different from your preference as indicated in your Examination Booking Form.

 

Examination Venue

  • All examinations will be held the Examination Centre at Hong Kong International Aviation Academy. (Address: Room 3 – 6, 6/F, HKIA Commercial Building, 1 Sky Plaza Road, Hong Kong International Airport, Lantau, Hong Kong)

 

Examination Advice

  • A copy of Examination Advice with the scheduled examination date and start time will be sent to the registered email(s) when the booking is confirmed.

 

Examination Results

  • Examination results are normally released within 3 working days of the examination date. Results will be sent to the registered email(s) and available for personal collection from the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy. Examination results will not be disclosed over the telephone.

 

Inclement Weather

  • Examinations will be cancelled when tropical cyclone warning signal No. 8 or above or black rainstorm warning is in force. Candidates will be notified of alternative dates later.
  • Morning session examinations will be resumed if tropical cyclone warning signal No. 8 or above or black rainstorm warning is cancelled before 5:00 am; afternoon session examinations will be resumed if tropical cyclone warning signal No. 8 or above or black rainstorm warning is cancelled before 10:30 am.

 

Remarks

•    It is the candidates' responsibility to comply with the regulations stipulated in CAD54, and HKIAA will not consider appeals for fee exemption resulting from breaches of examination regulations
