Maintaining the network schedule lies at the heart of all airline’s operational management decisions, alongside ensuring that service quality standards are maintained, and revenue is retained and maximised. This module emphasises the importance of a coherent and efficient schedule planning process across the entire airline operation. A variety of resources, aircraft, crew, and other support functions are considered in relation to their interdependence. Students will consider the strategic challenges associated with managing the complex and unpredictable airline operational environment. The module deploys optimisation software to simulate the schedule planning process.
