Airbus A319/320/321 (IAE V2500) to A319/320/321 (PW1100G) B1 Type Course

This eight-day course equips participants with supplementary knowledge and skills that build upon their existing qualifications on the A320 IAE V2500 Family aircraft. This enables them to safely maintain A320 Family aircraft equipped with PW1100G engines, ensuring continued reliability and airworthiness.  

 

Course Content:

 

  • Engine familiarisation and detailed description of the PW1100G engine components
  • In-depth study of Engine Fuel and Control, Air Systems, Oil Systems, Starting, Ignition, and Electronic Engine Controller (EEC)
  • Operation of engine controls and indications in the cockpit
  • Servicing of the engine in accordance with the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), including oil replenishment and borescope inspection basics.
  • Use of On-board Maintenance System (OMS) and Build-In Test Equipment (BITE) for fault diagnosis
  • Procedures for removal and installation of engine line-replaceable units (LRUs)

 

Intended Learning Outcomes:

 

  • Identify and apply aircraft technical documentation
  • Perform the servicing and ground handling unique to the aircraft type
  • Perform inspections and routine work unique to the aircraft type
  • Perform system functional/operational tests and tests supported by on-board maintenance systems
  • Demonstrate awareness for the use of special tooling and test equipment for inspection
  • Perform rigging and adjustments unique to the aircraft type
  • Describe component removal/installation procedures unique to the aircraft type
  • Determine aircraft airworthiness in accordance with MEL/CDL, and explain maintenance procedures according to the MEL
  • Correlate information for the purpose of making decisions with respect to fault diagnosis and rectification
