Certificate in First Aid

This five-day (30 hours) course provides participants with the principles of First Aid. The course recognises and practices First Aid treatments such as CPR techniques and introduces hands-on practice for First Aid treatment in special circumstances.

• Principles & practice of first aid      
• Action at an emergency       
• The structure and the functions of the body
• Dressings & bandages          
• Asphyxia        
• Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adult and infant
• Management of airway obstruction in adult and infant
• Wounds, bleeding & circulatory failure
• Shock & fainting
• Injuries to bones
• Injuries to muscles, ligaments & joints
• The nervous system & unconsciousness
• Burns & scalds
• Poisoning
• Procedure at road accidents
• Handling & transportation of injured person

Remarks

• Candidates who pass the examination will be awarded the "Certificate in First Aid" recognised by the HKSAR. The certificate is valid for three years
• The course will be delivered by Hong Kong Red Cross
