On 26 February 2025, the HKIAA welcomes the Financial Secretary’s support to nurture aviation talents in his Budget 2025/26, affirming Hong Kong’s status as a world-class civil aviation hub.

As the first civil aviation academy in Hong Kong, HKIAA continues to embrace our mission to support the continuous development of the aviation industry in the city and the region by offering a comprehensive aviation-related syllabus. With the C919 aircraft now in use for flights outside the Mainland, the HKIAA expects a corresponding increase in demand for the aircraft‘s related jobs. As such, plans are already underway to expand HKIAA's course offerings, including flying training, aircraft engineering and maintenance, with a view to nurturing talents who can provide C919 aircraft services in Hong Kong. The HKIAA will also work closely with the Airport Authority Hong Kong to explore opportunities to provide training related to aircraft parts’ dismantling and recycling to establish Hong Kong as the first aircraft parts processing and training centre in Asia.
