On 29 November 2024, the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy (HKIAA) held a Graduation Ceremony at the Asia-World Expo, honouring the latest group of graduates who have successfully completed the HKIAA’s distinguished accredited programmes — Advanced Master in Air Transport Management (AMATM), Professional Diploma in Aviation Management (PDAM) or Diploma in Aviation Operations (DAO).

The ceremony celebrated over 100 graduates from across the three programmes. Officiating guests in attendance included Mrs Christile Drulhe, Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, Capt Victor Liu, Director-General of Civil Aviation and Mrs Vivian Cheung, Acting CEO of Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK). Other distinguished guests from leading companies and organisations in the local airport community and international aviation industry also attended to witness the achievements of the graduates.

The event began with congratulatory remarks by Mr Simon Li, President of HKIAA, and Mr Nicolas Cazalis, Vice President of École Nationale de l'Aviation Civile (ENAC), followed by remarks by Mr Liu Chun-san, Under Secretary for Transport and Logistics HKSAR. Mr Li thanked ENAC, the programmes’ sponsors, business partners, and industry experts for their invaluable contributions. The AMATM, PDAM, and DAO are accredited programmes recognised for excellence in civil aviation training and developing future talent to support the industry’s growth. He added, “The HKIAA has made great strides in advocating for high-quality academic and professional training, and we are making good progress on two new academic programmes that we plan to roll out next year.  First, the new Advanced Master’s in Aviation Safety Management programme will become a second programme co-organised with ENAC. The second one will be the top-up degree programme in Aviation Management co-organised with an overseas university. These programmes will offer our graduates and industry practitioners additional pathways to attain higher academic qualifications”.

The convocation began with the AMATM cohorts, followed by graduates from the PDAM and DAO. Mr Li and Mr Cazalis conferred certificates to the AMATM graduates hailing from Hong Kong, Mainland China and the Belt and Road countries, including Cambodia, India, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. The event concluded with speeches by the graduate representatives from each programme, during which they reflected on their study journeys and aspirations for the future.

HKIAA looks forward to seeing the graduates, contributing in these respective areas of expertise and together shaping a bright future for the aviation industry in Hong Kong and beyond.
