HKIAA Becomes an IATA Authorised Training Centre

The Hong Kong International Aviation Academy (HKIAA) has been accredited as the Authorised Training Centre (ATC) by International Air Transportation Association (IATA). This accreditation follows the prestigious ICAO Platinum member / Training Centre of Excellence (TCE) status in the TRAINAIR PLUS Programme (TPP) and the recognition as an ACI Accredited Training Partner achieved in May 2023, further signifying HKIAA’s pivotal role in aviation training.

The agreement is signed by Mr Simon Li, the President of HKIAA and Mr Conrad Clifford, Senior Vice President and Deputy Director General of IATA at Aviation Day 2023, co-hosted by the IATA and Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) at AsiaWorld Expo on 2 August 2023. As an accredited ATC, HKIAA will now be able to offer IATA-authorised training courses.

Mr Li said, "We are privileged to obtain this latest accreditation from IATA as an ATC. Recognition and affiliation with ICAO, ACI and IATA, the world’s three key aviation organisations, affirm HKIAA’s leading position in providing learning and development in the aviation industry and encourage us to continue strengthening our capability to meet the training needs of the aviation ecosystem in Hong Kong, the Mainland and the region at large.”

HKIAA will continue to proactively promote collaboration with the Mainland and regional stakeholders in aviation training. With a view to supporting forecasted regional growth, HKIAA has been diversifying its training offerings for aviation professionals, including a commercial airline pilot training programme planned due to be launched later this year.
