A Strategic Leap Forward From Policy to Airline Planning
Tuvshunbayar Damdin, Graduate, 2022 Advanced Master in Air Transport Management, Shares how his experience was broadened
Continuing education is more than acquiring new knowledge and skills; it is also a strategic move to future-proof your career and seize new opportunities.
For Tuvshunbayar Damdin, the Advanced Master in Air Transport Management (AMATM) was a pivotal turning point. Before joining the programme, he had spent over a decade at the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia, where he focused on international air service agreements and economic regulations. After graduation, he was able to realise his long-held dream of working in airline operations. Tubshunbayar was invited to join Eznis Airways to lead the Policy and Planning Division and be responsible for shaping the airline’s mid- to long-term business strategies.
“I have always wanted to gain a deeper understanding of the aviation industry,” Tuvshunbayar said. “AMATM gave me that opportunity—not only to learn more about aviation, but to grasp the full scope of the industry.” The structured curriculum helped him build a solid foundation of professional knowledge, boosting his confidence and equipping him with the tools to navigate a successful career transition.
He also highlights one of the most rewarding aspects of the programme is the global network he was able to build. “Studying alongside aviation professionals from different countries and cultures allowed us to analyse problems from multiple perspectives and prepared us to become industry leaders,” he says. “These connections have become invaluable. Whenever I need insights from other regions, I can reach out to my classmates for support.”
As a father of three, Tubshunbayar faced the challenge of balancing work, study, and family.
“It wasn’t easy,” he admits. “But the programme’s flexible format—just one long weekend per month in Hong Kong—allowed me to stay focused on work and family during the week, and dedicate weekends to learning. I could deepen my aviation expertise without compromising my professional or personal responsibilities.”
“I strongly recommend this programme. It offers the perfect balance between career advancement and everyday life, helping professionals stay competitive while maintaining their rhythm.”
