Personnel need to certify as Government of HKSAR recognised First Aider

This five-day (30 hours) course provides participants with the principles of First Aid. The course recognises and practices First Aid treatments such as CPR techniques and introduces hands-on practice for First Aid treatment in special circumstances.

Topics covered:

Principles & practice of first aid
Action at an emergency
The structure and the functions of the body
Dressings & bandages
Asphyxia
Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adult and infant
Management of airway obstruction in adult and infant
Wounds, bleeding & circulatory failure
Shock & fainting
Injuries to bones
Injuries to muscles, ligaments & joints
The nervous system & unconsciousness
Burns & scalds
Poisoning
Procedure at road accidents
Handling & transportation of injured person

Remarks

Candidates who pass the examination will be awarded the "Certificate in First Aid" recognised by the HKSAR. The certificate is valid for three years
The course will be delivered by Hong Kong Red Cross
