This five-day course aims to develop the skills and knowledge required to conduct effective investigations into aerodrome accidents and incidents, with a focus on international standards, root cause analysis, and safety improvement.

Intended Learning Outcomes

  • Explain international accident investigation principles and ICAO frameworks
  • Identify causes and contributing factors using root cause and Quality Assurance (QA) methods
  • Apply Safety Management System (SMS) and risk assessment in investigation context
  • Conduct internal and state-level investigations using tools and data analysis
  • Interview stakeholders and preserve critical evidence
  • Draft clear, actionable reports and safety recommendations

  • Regulatory framework and ICAO Annex 13
  • Quality assurance and root cause analysis
