Understanding ICAO Annex 14 and PANS-Aerodromes

This five-day course aims to build participants’ foundational knowledge of ICAO Annex 14 and the Procedures for Air Navigation Services – Aerodromes (PANS-Aerodromes), enabling proper interpretation and application in aerodrome planning, design, operation, and compliance.

Intended Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Interpret ICAO Annex 14 and PANS-Aerodromes guidance
  • Apply ICAO requirements to aerodrome data and planning
  • Identify physical characteristics and compliance for runways, taxiways, and aprons
  • Analyse pavement types, strength and friction data
  • Assess airport safeguarding criteria and Obstacle Limitation Surfaces (OLS)
  • Understand ICAO-compliant aeronautical navigation aids and studies
