ICAO Safety Management for Practitioners (SMxP)

This five-day ICAO course provides participants with practical knowledge of risk management and safety assurance. It aims to provide qualified Safety Management System (SMS) staff with a comprehensive application of operational safety management processes and practical examples of the use of IT tools (Bowtie XP), to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of safety management activities.

 

Topics covered :

  • Identify hazards following a systematic and consistent approach
  • Mitigate safety risks following a systematic and consistent approach
  • Manage changes to the system in a safe manner
  • Assess safety reports through a safety screening and internal investigation 
  • Prepare a safety audit/survey for assessing performance of the process
  • Design a safety performance monitoring scheme

 

MATF-approved Programme

Eligible applicants may apply for refund of 80% of fees after completing this approved course, subject to a maximum of HKD30,000, under the Professional Training and Examination Refund Scheme (ProTERS) of Maritime and Aviation Training Fund (MATF).  For details, please refer to the MATF session or http://www.matf.gov.hk 

Remarks

  • Prior to the enrolment of the course [ICAO1410], applicants are required to complete the online prerequisite course Safety Management (SM EN): Online successfully on https://igat.icao.int/ated/TrainingCatalogue/Course/956 . Please provide the certificate code during the course enrolment. 
  • For participants who would like to apply Maritime and Aviation Training Fund (MATF) for the online prerequisite course, please register the course by sending an email to the Academy at fap@hkiaaAcademy.com at least one month before the course commencement.
