Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) Training - Qualification Training on Navigation

This three-day course provides domain-specific knowledge on navigation systems, aiming to explain the concepts, techniques, testing instruments and monitoring in navigation technology. Upon completion, participants will be able to identify and describe the purpose of the navigation systems and equipment commonly used and their technical specifications.

 

Course Content:

  • Sound characteristics and measurement units
  • Non-Directional Beacon (NDB) and Direction Finding (DF)
  • Doppler Very High Frequency Omni-directional Radio Range (DVOR)
  • Distance Measuring Equipment (DME)
  • Instrument Landing System (ILS)
  • Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)
  • Performance-based Navigation (PBN), Area Navigation (RNAV) and Required Navigation Performance (RNP)
