The HKIAA has added an advanced Aircraft Tractor Simulator, delivering immersive and safe training for aircraft towing and pushback operations. Replicating Hong Kong International Airport's airfield as the setting, the simulator offers trainees a highly realistic driving experience. The operator console has the same layout and functionality of an actual pushback tractor used in live operations, featuring a fully interactive control panel, force feedback steering wheel, and pedal controls that provide true-to-life haptic responses.
A three-screen wrap-around display provides a nearly 180° field of view, surrounding the operator with a panoramic visual environment, enhancing spatial awareness and realism.
The simulator can replicate all weather conditions, dynamically simulating unexpected incidents to challenge the operator's decision-making skills when under pressure. The simulator is designed to complement practical airfield training, strengthening operational readiness and confidence before transitioning to live environments.
