Enhanced Collaboration between ATC and Pilots in Handling Irregularities, Abnormalities and Emergencies

This one-day course provides an air traffic controller with an understanding of cockpit workload and flight crew issues during abnormal and emergency situations, resulting in enhanced flight safety awareness, ATC operational efficiency and service quality. This course is comprised of both classroom and flight simulator. It is an excellent introduction to the cockpit issues faced by air traffic controllers and pilots in crises.

Topics covered:

• Briefing on the simulator layout and how much the pilots can know in an emergency
• Operational issues faced by both ATC and pilots
• Use the flight simulator to demonstrate various cockpit functions in an emergency
• ATC / pilot exchanges and recommendations for handling different situations
