Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) Training - Qualification Training on Data Processing

This seven-day course provides domain-specific knowledge on data processing and automation systems. It aims to explain the concepts, techniques, testing instruments and monitoring in data processing and automation technology. Upon completion, participants will be able to identify and describe the purpose of the data processing and automation systems and equipment commonly used and their technical specifications.

 

Course Content:

  • Surveillance Data Processing (SDP), Flight Data Processing (FDP)
  • Arrival Manager (AMAN), Departure Manager (DMAN), Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM)
  • Air Traffic Services Message Handling System (AMHS)
  • Aeronautical Information Data Base system (AIDB)
  • Network principles, protocols and applications in civil aviation
  • External network services in civil aviation, such as Aeronautical Telecommunications Network (ATN)
  • Air-ground network
  • Ground-ground network
  • Applications using data link networks, such as Pre-Departure Clearance (PDC)
  • Types of physical layer in data transmission, such as copper wires, optic fibres, coaxial and LAN cables
